Walk- FORMAT CHANGE (SEE BELOW) Sunday, April 26 - Starting at 3PM
While we have unfortunately had to cancel our group walk to due CV-19 restrictions, we encourage persons to individually walk and obtain sponsors. The options are limitless. For example, we have a long-term walker who has partnered with his wife to walk 50 miles a month from May through August in celebration of their 50th wedding anniversary. Any walk proceeds or donations can be easily mailed in via our donation form. Thanks in advance for your continued remote support of this long-standing WHA tradition!
Golf
Tournament - CANCELLED Saturday, TBD - lunch is at noon and tournament play begins at 1PM
Join us at the Westlake Golf & County Club for our 16th annual eighteen hole captain's-choice golf
tournament. There will be prizes for top three, team scores, longest drive,
closest to the pin and more. The tournament includes lunch, driving range
access and soft drinks during play, with all proceeds go to support world
hunger. Download your team registration form from here or from our resources page and be sure to let all your golfing friends know about this
great opportunity for golf, fun, fellowship and the support of a great cause!
Bike
Ride - FORMAT CHANGE (SEE BELOW) Saturday, June 6 - registration Begins at 8AM
Because of concerns presented by the COVID-19 virus, the format for the 2020 World Hunger
Bike Ride will be new and different. Rather than riding designated
courses on a single day, cyclists are invited to ride routes of their choosing
in accordance with social distancing practices and record their mileage from
May 1 through September 1. As always, they are asked to seek pledges or
donate an entry fee to participate.
Cyclists will be asked to submit their donations and the number of miles they
ride by September 5. A donation of $500 will be made to the Auction in
honor of the one with the most total miles. Please send donations to World
Hunger Auction, 130 Hickman Road, Rocky Mount, VA 24151.
You are encouraged to share this information with all who might want to ride or
support a rider. Even though the challenges are different this year, the
ride can still raise funds for those who are hungry and need support.
Blessing to all who join in this effort either as a rider or a donor.
Organ
Concert - DECISION TBD?Sunday, TBD - starting at 4PM
Please join us at Antioch Church of the Brethren and enjoy a very entertaining program of advance organ compilations by Franklin County's own Jonathan Emmons.
