Making Christmas Music in Support of World Hunger

On Sunday, December 7 a packed house at Antioch Church of the Brethren enjoyed a very entertaining afternoon of Christmas Music by Antioch Church Handbells and Church Choir followed by a delicious luncheon.  Over $1,500 was raised at this event in support of World Hunger.   Thanks to all those attending and celebrating the season in style by helping feed the hungry.

Winter Music Concert A Success for the Hungry

On the last day of January 2009, a large crowd gathered at the Smith Mountain Lake Church of the Brethren to enjoy an evening of wonderful music and fellowship.  In addition to enjoying the winter concert, attendees were very generous in supporting the hungry by donating close to $1,000 at the event.  Thanks to all those performing and attending this delightful gathering at the lake.   

Dozens Walk for World Hunger

On April 19, 2009 over 75 people representing over a dozen churches and groups completed the World Hunger Walk raising over $5,000.  Much appreciation to all who participated as walkers, sponsors and helpers to make the walk such a success.  The money will help make a difference to our hungry brothers and sisters.   

Close to $6,500 Raised During World Hunger Bike Ride

On May 30, 2009 54 bike riders raised nearly $6,500 dollars for world hunger thru registration fees and ride sponsorships.  In addition to the Blue Ridge Bicycle Club of Roanoke, there were participants from Franklin County, Martinsville, Moneta, Vinton, Salem and more. Thanks to all of the bikers and sponsors who peddled their way to alleviate world hunger on a beautiful Saturday morning.
